Welcome to Colleen's web site, version 5.0!
Colleen is an awesome kid who loves to read, do homework (and she isn't even in school yet) and play outside. She is an artist, philosopher and great mathematician. She is a very good photographer, too, who was recently introduced to a digital camera. The photo at the top of the page is a self-portrait.
Her favorite color is pink. She loves to wear dresses, play dress-up and play with dolls. She is all girl. However, she is also tough. She likes to get dirty, jump on the trampouline, rough house, pick up bugs and play soccer. Noone has ever told her not to do these things, so she loves them as well. Her girl idols are her cousins Ashley and Katelyn, who are gorgeous sports jocks. She adores all of her cousins — because she thinks the girls are beautiful and the boys are WILD! But she particularly talks about these two a lot, probably because they embody both of her favorite characteristics!
Currently, the blog below is updated by her parents. However, you should expect entries from her in the very near future.
We hope you also will take time to look at her photo album, which contains pictures that we update on rare occasions. New visitors might be interested in reading about Colleen's birth or her heart surgery, or seeing photos she took of her house.

It's definite. Colleen is a genius. This weekend, she learned to say "Who is that?" She also started responding with the appropriate sound when someone asks, "What does an elephant say?" Once, she even made the universal hand gesture for elephant (arm up like a trunk).
We went to cousin J.C.'s birthday party (5th), which was also cousin Aaron's 21st birthday. Colleen did NOT enjoy the icy water of the swimming pool or getting splashed by the other kids. We are going to start going to the Brownsburg pool next week.
She also started climbing last week, which was promptly followed by learning to fall from heights. When a certain container of dog food is in the wrong spot, she can climb onto it and onto the piano bench - a heart attack sight for any mommy or grandma walking by. She also has a toy which is kind of like a kiddie workbench that she loves to climb into and just stand there. It reminds me of the way the cat has to sit on the highest point in the room - be it a phone book, a blanket or table. Colleen is definitely a monkey girl!

Colleen has turned some sort of developmental corner. Suddenly, she is repeating lots of words. First, it was "uh-oh." She even started dropping things just so she could say it. "Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh." Then, it was "Yeah!" Only, she sounded like a parrot, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah ..." She has also said "See ya!" and "Hey baby!" (I swear she said "Hey baby" when I said it to her one day.)
She is quite a cutie these days. She also started taking three-hour afternoon naps last week. She spends the rest of the day in an absolutely charming and delightful mood. Seriously. She cracks up constantly, mostly while she is tormenting the dog. He secretly loves it. I know this because whenever we seperate them, he whines until he can be with her again. They are quite the pair!
